Free Holdem in 2010

There were a lot of changes in the free poker money market in 2009, some good, some not so good.

Among the not so good changes were the sudden closure of Pitbull Poker, and the consequent ending of their very long running $10 free bonus. Another loss was the ending of the Victor Chandler $35 free bonus which had been available for over two years and had proved to be very popular.

But on the up side of things, there were a few new entrants to the free poker money business. The latest new offer to become available was the $19 bonus at CelebPoker.

You can get the full details of the Celeb Poker bonus deal here..

There were some other new sites offering free hold’em cash as well, but the jury is still out on whether they are any good or not. This new site at this link was recently launched with what appears to be a clone of the popular YourPokerCash site.

While it is good to have more competition in this growing market, the new Free Poker site seems to have the exact same offers as are already available at YPC. Not only that, but (if it is possible) they seem to be actually slower in processing the bankroll applications than the already notoriously slow YPC.

Still, we will watch and see how they progress – and of course we will report on their progress later on in 2010.

All in all, 2009 was certainly not a bad year for free money for poker players, and hopefully the trend will continue into 2010 and us freebie hunters will have a bumper year.
